ABOUT ME

I grew up with the image of my mother hunched over her painting table, brush in hand, painting the most intricate of pieces imaginable. She was a perfectionist— exact, extreme and prolific. I am my mother’s daughter in so many ways, but a perfectionist, I am not. Through my work, I aim to capture a feeling and a mood. My fascination with interiors has to do with our inner life and how it gets revealed in our outer worlds— the little stories that one can find in every corner of one’s home. I focus on areas that speak to me, that evoke a feeling, whether it be nostalgia, excitement, peace, openness, longing— I aim to capture it while still making the work esthetically pleasing. My hope is that when one of my paintings finds its way into your home, it brings with it the magic that visual art, like music, can evoke— a moment in time, a memory, a feeling you never want to forget. I believe you become what you surround yourself with all day long. It tells your particular story. It is my honor and my joy to be a part of that telling, of illuminating, as the poet, Mary Oliver, puts it “…your one wild and precious life.”
